I Used to work in orbitz
Yeah thats right feel free to ask me your doubts about our company and i will answer
but before some of general information..
1.- see that some of you suggest that use orbitz only to see fares and then book directly with the airline, ok no prob!
but check the fares online!! do not talk to our sales department,the agents are suposed to sell every call that get into their phones,and a call thta is just questions or stupid questions it causes that the agents get frustrated and fired, (im not kidding)
here it is an example:
hello im online searching for a roundtrip flight,blablablabla, but when i click on it it says that i need to contact the airline, so what do i need to do??
mmm seriously isnt that obvious??
2.- yes! there is always glitches and problems within our website,BUT, none of CS agents,sales agents and supervisors knows why its happening, Orbitz does not have any technical support or any IT department, so stop getting angry with people that does not control the system, and with people that only receives a briefing that its like, when the page says sorry we are unable to complete your request,close your browser and try again.
im not kidding that the suggested thing to do directly from orbitz
so please try to understand that we can help you out trying to complete the reservation from our computers, SOMETIMES we can confirm your reservations perfectly, and other times we receive the same response,error message like you, AND ITS NOT OUR FAULT
3.- What i mentioned before also applies for why if it is a flight not available why its showing on the website
answer: ITS NOT THE AGENTS FAULT,THEY DONT DONT KNOW THE ANSWER AND THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT, JUST TO SEND A REPORT TO ORBITZ WORLD WIDE.
4.- YES! the prices change everytime on the website, so if you are online on in the phone with a sales rep, and you get a low fare, buy it in that moment!
I was tired to hear…100 dlls more?? but i saw it cheaper in your webiste…oh really when was that sir? mmm about two days ago…mmm seriously??
5.-If it says due to changes to availability the price that you selected is no longer available,, its because that what its happening!!
why do you talk and ask why is it happening and what you can do..there is a message there that says TRY SELECTING ANOTHER FLIGHT.
6.-i dont think this will be the chase but sometimes people talk to buy but they dont have email adress or credit card,
WE NEED AN EMAIL ADRESS,WE SELL E-TICKETS OK? also we do not accept gift cards that does not have any billing adress on it.
7. Very important…if you are not willing to pay UP to 25 dlls to book a flight online, if you are not willing to pay that for something do the things that you dont want or dont know how to do it by yourself then dont call us, that fee only apllies for flights and its the only pay for the sales agents, so stop trying to get your reservations free of charge with the help of one employee that takes 8 hours of calls and does not receive a pay for it,thats just selfish from our customers side.
and i think thats it from now maybe in these days i can update this post
meanwhile i will wait for your comments,curses and questions,

that was about 1 year ago and i used to work in the campbellsville center so what else do you want to investigate?

I am hoping you will be able to help me resolve my issue.
I obtained the email address you mentioned in this post - customerrelations@orbitz.com - from a “Manager” named James (empolyee #MHT) in Orbitz Customer Service. I have sent 2 emails with the information in this post but have heard nothing back from anybody. Here is just a small part of my story . . .
After spending probably close to 4 hours on the phone with many Orbitz Customer Service employees ending with a second conversation with James(the above mentioned “Manager”), my situation still remains unresolved. I am VERY frustrated with this entire situation and very disappointed with my dealings with James.
When I asked James if I could talk with his supervisor, he told me there was no one else to talk to above him in Customer Service and gave me no other option. I then asked him for a phone number for someone I could talk with to get this situation resolved. He told me he was not allowed to give out any phone numbers and finally after insisting on a way to contact someone that could help me he gave me that email address as the next step in solving this problem.
My Orbitz record locator is AP110101MYDEJZ5U. I would appreciate if you could either call me or give me a phone number of someone I can call to talk to about resolving my issue. My phone numbers and email address are in my records.

Soooo Lisa Is it true what i read on facebook that you guys fired a guy in Manila or somewhere for posting that he does not like orbitz? I’m not surprised that I am not getting my problem solved if you guys don’t allow your workers to be themselves how can I expect you
agents to go for the extra mile? ,so if they speak you fire them? DAMN GIRL! And all of the people you have in sales have told me that they don’t earn comissions when I soak to them I tought the 25 dlls where for them, so where does that money goes? No wonder why expedia is taking all the customers including me away! Cuz they work hard for the comissions, oh and I apologize to wolfmaster cuz I once called
to check rates but I had no idea you have to sale every call :S I’m really sorry, but I truly hate your customer service department more than your sales department cuz they do everything but solving problems and helping customers! I will never use your site again nor recomend it! Orbitz is a SCAM

Me also, I used to work with Orbitz. I was with escalations department (RRD) but I resigned because of less pay compare to other call center here. I loved Orbitz. I know how they take care of their customers, how they value the business and do anything to make customers happy.
I resigned because my shift is at night (call center not based in the US). My department is open 8am-10pm CT which begins at 9PM our time. Since not based in the US, our pay is less; like 20USD per day. You read it right 20USD PER DAY. This is higher though compare to the normal job here, their income is like 10USD PER DAY. I had less time seeing my family and college friends. I live with my sisters but sometimes I don’t see them for a week because they work in the day and I work at night.
I hate the call center company. It is a promotion if you apply to be on escalations department (same level as IT department, Quality Assurance Analyst, higher than work force management) but people here treat us as AGENTS (normal agents) I hate it. I worked hard to be promoted but there’s no appreciation from the management (from call center company not Orbitz).
Orbitz on the other hand takes care of us. Value us. They see our worth. They see our importance. They listen to our suggestions/comments/feedback especially when they visited us here. I love Richard, Carma, Shelley and Santi. I missed these guys.
I don’t think Orbitz sucks. If given a chance I want to work with Orbitz again. I missed Orbitz a lot.
